FEA structural analysis of a base skid, which supports a condensor exhauster system in a combined cycle power generation facility. The design criteria for the structure were obtained from the AISC Code. ANSYS Finite element analysis software was used to model the base skid structure.
Equipment mounted to the skid was modelled using lumped mass elements at corresponding center-of-gravity locations, and the skid itself was modelled with linear shell elements. Stresses and deflections were analyzed under deadweight and seismic loading conditions.
