Performs structural and thermal analysis of machines, equipment, and products. He has over 10 years experience in finite element stress analysis and with injection molding and machining processes.
In addition to performing linear and non-linear analyses of components in the manufacturing, nuclear, power, mining, and consumer products industries, he has advanced his machine shop skills by designing, developing and assembling numerous prototypes.
Rob holds a US patent pertaining to a novel bicycle transmission design, performing the mechanical design and layout for novel transmission concept, involving concept generation, component layout, motion simulation, structural analysis, preparing parts for machining and injection molding, and solid modeling.
Rob is proficient in various software programs such as Rhino3D, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, and is experienced in the Python programming language, developing programs to solve thermal finite difference equations and perform engineering calculations. He is also is proficient in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, and Pro/Engineer, MATLAB and ANSYS (Workbench and Classic).
