Here is an overview of this book:

This Handbook is written for mechanical designers, engineers, manufacturers, and constructors who wish to take advantage of all that has been learned by mechanical and structural failures over the past 50 years in order to avoid similar failures in the future and to evaluate Fitness for Service.

Part 1 Summarizes the lessons learned in engineering design, fabrication and construction

Part 2 Describes the major advantages of finite element analysis in performing failure analysis of components

Part 3 Describes how mathematical simulations and materials science are effective tools to accurately quantify the relative degrees of liability between the defendants – which is useful in litigation and arbitration.
